Total Gym Supreme Review

In this time and age, people are flocking to home gyms and trading gym memberships for physical items that they can easily set up, store and even transport to different locations. The Total Gym brand has always promoted this kind of a fitness lifestyle. What started as an idea of using your own bodyweight to do strength training has led the brand into expanding and selling its 11 models in all parts of the world.

Total Gym Supreme

The Total Gym Supreme is one of the four main models in the “elite” family. However, it is also one of the more affordable Total Gyms offered nowadays. With an interesting mix of attachments and features, it really has a big potential and can be the best choice for many people.

If you have been eyeing the Total Gym products and don’t know whether the Supreme model is the perfect fit for your needs, continue reading this guide and see what this compact home gym actually promotes.

Total Gym Supreme - Value for Your Money

The Supreme is known as the most affordable Total Gym out there, but also the most affordable model in the higher-end models. Therefore, it can be compared with the Total Gym APEX editions by the amount of exercises.

The best thing about it is that despite its low price, the Total Gym Supreme offers 12 different resistance levels which is way more than the APEX family or other lower-priced Total Gym home gyms.

When it comes to weight capacity, it offers a 275 lb one which may be the only feature seen as a drawback to this model. If you weigh more than 275 lbs, you need to find a Total Gym that will support you, and the Supreme is kind of limited in this manner. Still, the 300 lbs weight capacity in the APEX family (despite the G5 having 375 lbs capacity) is very similar to this model.

What we love about it is the fact that the Total Gym Supreme uses awesome materials, comes fully assembled and is basically a great way to make most out of gentle and low impact exercises. You can work out with full range of motion, perform over 60 different exercises and fold it for storage.

The Exercises Powered By The Total Gym Supreme

The Total Gym Supreme has more than 60 exercises which can be performed on it, mostly being diverse and targeting the upper body, lower body, as well as core movements. One of the best things about these exercises is the fact that they are balanced.

While some of them are easy, others can be difficult for you. Generally, all of them involve as much range of motion as you want or need, focusing on stretching your body, giving you more strength and being low impact, which is also great for protecting your joints.

As you can probably tell, more than 60 is a big number of exercises. However, when you split them by muscle groups and days, it adds up to around 10 per day (if you are working out every day) or even less based on your needs.

When compared to the Total Gym XLS, Total Gym Fit, and Total Gym GTS, the 60+ exercises are nothing. All of these (more sophisticated) Total Gym models offer greater varieties. However, if you are new to the system and don’t want to pay too much, the Total Gym Supreme definitely brings a balance in the way it blends the resistance levels and exercises.

Speaking of which, the 12 different levels of resistance can be changed by elevating or lowering the height of the base. Now, this number is more significant than most of the cheaper Total Gym models, and is even higher than the more expensive Total Gym XLS. Basically, the Supreme fine-tunes your workout to give you a perfect balance of resistance levels and exercises, along with some great accessories – covered below.

What Do You Get When Buying The Total Gym Supreme

There are a couple of really handy accessories that Total Gym is well known for – coming as standard in the Total Gym Supreme edition. These include the following:

  • The Best Selling AbCrunch Accessory – Tones your abdominal muscles with great exercises, and is perfect for strengthening your core. There are many exercises for abs that you will find great and very effective.
  • Ribbed Squat Stand – Another great addition to the Supreme model is this ribbed squat stand, which has reinforced grip and lets you use it for toning up your hamstrings and quadriceps.
  • Tri-Grip Shaper Bars – Whether you are new to bars or used to them in the fitness world, you know they are a must with every home gym. The Supreme model proudly includes them in the package.
  • Leg Pull Accessory With Detachable Bracket And 2 Ankle Cuffs – Another great way to tone up your legs is the accessory which also lets you attach your ankles and use the bracket for better motion.
  • Nutritional Program And Meal Plans  – The Total Gym Supreme proves that it is a complete home gym solution that also lets you focus on what you eat to stay fit and what foods you should consume to build muscle and stay lean.

So, Should You Buy, Shortlist Or Avoid The Total Gym Supreme?

If you are waiting on final advice from us on whether you should buy, shortlist, or avoid the Total Gym Supreme, our instinct tells us that this is a model worth buying.

Still, only for the sake of the 60+ exercises and 275 pounds limit, you may want to shortlist it and compare it to other models in the same family. However, considering all the attachments and the great price on the Supreme, we believe that it is the perfect balance of everything you need in your compact home gym.
