1. Will venues be ADA compliant?

2. Where can I get food?

Concession stands will be located near every venue and will serve a wide variety of food and beverage products. All concessions will take both cash (US Currency) and all major credit cards.

3. Are there ATM’s at the venues?

ATM’s can be found at the following venues; Belmont Pier, LACC, LA Live, LA Equestrian Center, UCLA and USC.

4. Will there be bathrooms at each venue? Will they be ADA accessible (including portable ones)?

Yes, there will be bathrooms (including ADA accessible) available at or near every venue.

5. Can I bring in food or drink/What can’t I bring?

The following is the Games Wide Prohibited Items List:

– Drugs/alcohol (no alcohol will be served at Special Olympic Events)
– Pop-up tents inside of venues
– Handles or supports may not exceed ¼” thickness, ¾” width, and 18” in length – all such handles or supports shall be made of  wood without exception
– Animals (except assistive animals)
– Fireworks
– Firearms
– Weapons, knives and explosives
– This is a smoke-free event. Tobacco use is not permitted at any location including cigarettes, cigars, pipes and smokeless  products
– Professional cameras, (lenses longer than 3”) or video and/or audio recording equipment
– Horns or other noisemakers, musical instruments or large music players
– Frisbees, balls
– Signs, posters, placards or banners exceeding (30” by 36”) inches in size
– Hard or soft sided coolers of any size
– Skateboards, roller skates and rollerblades
– Outside food and drink (a reasonable amount of water for individual personal consumption will be permitted)

6. What is going on besides the sport competitions?

Along with competition, there will be World Games Festivals going on at the UCLA and USC campuses during the Games. There will also be Unified Sport Experiences at the competition venues.

7. What are the festivals?

The Special Olympics World Games Festivals will feature main stage performances, arts showcases, games, community and World Games sponsor booths, food and much more! At UCLA, the Festival will be located at Wilson Plaza (see spectator map link). At USC, the Festival will be located at Alumni Park (see spectator map link). Click here for more information.

8. Will First Aid be available?

Spectator First Aid services will be available near every venue (see spectator map).

9. Language Interpretation help?

Interpretation Help is available. Assistance can be requested from any information booth, World Games volunteer, or staff member.

11. What is “Fans in the Stands”?

The Fans in the Stands program is an opportunity to get involved and be a supporter of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games! Fans in the Stands looks to create an exciting atmosphere of support for athletes during competition.
