Rick J. Caruso is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Caruso Affiliated, recognized as one of the country’s most innovative and influential real estate companies.

Caruso Affiliated owns and manages a dynamic portfolio of outdoor lifestyle properties -- including The Grove in Los Angeles, The Americana at Brand in Glendale, The Commons at Calabasas and The Promenade at Westlake, delivering 5 -star customer service with a neighborhood scale and community feel, and creating a unique guest experience that attracts over 60 million visitors annually.


Mr. Caruso has been widely honored for both his business innovations and his philanthropic contributions to the Greater Los Angeles community.  He recently endowed the Caruso Catholic Center at the University of Southern California, and serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Southern California, the Board of Councilors of Pepperdine School of Law and the Board of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation. His numerous community and philanthropic commitments include service on the boards of Para Los Niňos, St. John’s Health Center Foundation, The California Medical Center, USC School of Policy, Planning and Development and The National Institute of Transplantation.  Mr. Caruso has been inducted into the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Business Hall of Fame. 


Together with his wife, Tina, he also founded the Caruso Family Foundation, dedicated to supporting organizations that improve the lives of children in need of healthcare and education.


Mr. Caruso believes strongly in public service and civic responsibility.  He served as President of the Los Angeles Police Commission, President of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Board of Commissioners and served as the Governor’s appointee to the Los Angeles Coliseum Commission.


Mr. Caruso holds a a Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he was a Brock Scholar, and a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Southern California.  


He is a native of Los Angeles, and continues to reside in the city with Tina, their three sons and a daughter.
